Job Title: Multifamily GSE Relationship Manager
Location: Charlotte, NC, Plano, TX or New York
Job purpose
The GSE Relationship Manager will provide business Oversight & Performance Support to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac originations. The Relationship Manager will be responsible for monitoring the performance, efficiency and effectiveness of our GSE originations operation. This role will be instrumental in driving GSE originations volume and assisting in the performance of the firm’s GSE business with borrowers through successful collaboration with generalists and other deal source providers within the platform.
Duties and responsibilities
- Work closely with the Head of Agency Originations to support pipeline activities and create strategic relationships for the firm.
- Help generalist originators with pitching Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loan products to core customers.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with borrowers, with an emphasis on direct borrowers such as developers, owners, builders, contractors as well as real estate brokers, and other sources of third party mortgage loan origination opportunities in the appropriate market channels.
- Work with National Screening Manager on qualifying loans prior to the underwriting and closing process.
- Interface with company credit personnel during the underwriting and closing process.
- Interface with company servicing personnel as needed.
- Conduct market intelligence of GSE loan activities and implement a strategy to penetrate more markets.
- Deliver effective and efficient solutions by researching/analyzing complex issues and opportunities and making recommendations.
- Contribute to the success of the GSE platform, teamwork, transparency and a high-level of professionalism.
- Ensuring that internal policies and procedures are adhered to and managing within the firm’s guidelines.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 to 10 years of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac mortgage originations experience.
- Proven track record of originating multifamily mortgage loans with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
- Understanding of and ability to structure around risks associated with transactions.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Collaborative personal/professional style that advances a collegial partnered approach to meeting corporate objectives.
- Ability to work successfully in a large financial institution.
- Strong management and administrative skills.
- Ability to effectively represent customers and business partners.
- Advance degree preferred.
