Position Overview
:
Due to continued growth and acquisitions in the pipeline, we are seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join our dynamic accounting team. The ideal candidate is highly organized with a passion for numbers and a strong understanding of commercial property accounting principles. Responsibilities

  • Day to day/full cycle accounting for a portfolio of industrial/commercial real estate properties
  • Prepare monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP for assigned properties including bank reconciliations, journal entries, reclasses, expense accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and maintenance of supporting workpapers
  • Monitor cash and ensure sufficient liquidity for properties
  • Enter tenant receipts, monitor outstanding receivables and work with property managers to resolve any open balances
  • Review and approve payables in Yardi/Procure to Pay workflow
  • Review rent roll to ensure accuracy
  • Prepare annual CAM, Tax, and Insurance reconciliations based on tenant leases
  • Prepare and file monthly sales tax reporting
  • Work with property managers to review variance explanations and monthly accruals
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets
  • Dedication to continuously improve accounting processes
  • Assist with special tasks and projects as requested

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with 5+ years of relevant experience. CPA or advanced degree a plus.
  • 1-2+ years of recent hands on experience with YARDI Voyager is a MUST
  • Experience in commercial property accounting with solid understanding of recoveries and various lease types
  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Thrive in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Get it done attitude and strong sense of ownership
