Description

Jonathan Rose Companies (“JRCo”) is a leader in the preservation of affordable housing, and we are currently offering a paid internship in our Investments & Acquisitions Group. The Group makes investments on behalf of our private equity funds which target the acquisitions of mixed-income and affordable multifamily housing in gateway cities nationally. We re-position portfolio properties by introducing green building improvements and social programs, and since creating our investment management division, we have raised several private equity funds with capital from institutional and individual investors who invest with us to make an impact. The Investments & Acquisitions Group has a national pipeline and is actively investing its most recent Fund. Summer interns will gain exposure to a wide variety of affordable housing transactions.

Education or experience in the disciplines of investments and/or real estate is required and may include one or more of the following: real estate investing, private equity, investment banking, economic development and public finance, real estate development, real estate portfolio management, real estate economics, design and construction management, or sustainable community development. Experience from top-tier consulting or investment firms will also be considered.

All candidates should demonstrate excellent ability in quantitative analysis, with a premium placed on real estate financial modeling. Candidates are expected to have advanced skills in standard computer software programs, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project. Knowledge and exposure to Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) and/or HUD programs is a plus.

The ideal candidate should currently be enrolled in a master's program, demonstrate strong leadership and entrepreneurial skills, and be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.  Undergraduate candidates with demonstrated interest and relevant skills may also be considered.  All candidates should have strong organizational, analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
