The Development Group develops projects for its own account and on a fee basis on behalf of mission-driven development partners that are aligned with the firm’s values. The Group is currently developing projects in New York, Philadelphia, Stamford, and Detroit, and is actively pursuing large, multi-phase projects in select markets across the country. The Group also oversees the rehabilitation of existing affordable housing in coordination with the Investments & Acquisitions Group and the Construction Group.

The Development Group is seeking a Development Summer Intern in the firm’s New York City office. The Intern will gain insight into the real estate development process and will learn tangible skills related to site feasibility, project underwriting, design, and construction. In addition to completing a research project to be determined prior to the start of the internship, the intern will assist as needed with project coordination, preparing RFP responses, and conducting site due diligence. The Intern will also gain exposure to the affordable housing industry in New York City by attending a range industry events and project site visits and will work collaboratively with interns in other departments at Rose Companies. 

 

The ideal candidate is currently enrolled in a master’s program in real estate development or planning and has a demonstrated passion for sustainable community development. Candidates should be proactive, organized, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. A successful intern will be proactive, eager to help, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and general familiarity affordable housing finance is required.
