Reporting to the Vice President Administration and CFO, the Associate Vice President Facilities Management and Development is responsible for the management of major capital construction projects and the ongoing operations and maintenance of large complex facilities, in support of NAIT’s teaching, applied research, services to industry, and administration functions. This individual plays a key role in ensuring that NAIT’s physical space aligns with the priorities of the rapidly-growing post-secondary institution. They are responsible for the acquisition, disposition, development, redevelopment, upgrade, and retrofit of new and existing buildings and lands.
As the AVP Facilities Management and Development, you will provide leadership and vision to your team and staff, while working towards a campus development plan that aligns and integrates capital programs with NAIT’s academic and business plans. You will play a key role in guiding the strategic direction for campus development and maintenance, and foster a best practice approach to these activities. You will work with internal and external stakeholders, industry partners, and government representatives to advance NAIT’s campus development agenda.
As the successful candidate, you will have a P.Eng designation along with several years of engineering, project management, and facilities management experience. You will have a proven track record in the successful delivery of capital projects, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to foster a collaborative environment and encourage new and innovative ideas.
