Real Estate Capital Advisory Intern

Job Description

Park Madison Partners is seeking qualified applicants for an Internship with the firm’s Project Management Team.  The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work at an internationally recognized real estate private placement firm, with direct exposure to a variety of real estate private equity firms and their senior principals. The Internship is expected to last a minimum of 3 months, though further extension is possible depending on performance and need. The majority of the Internship is expected to be performed remotely, with routine interaction with other team members by email, phone, and video. Expected hours are 9 AM to 5 PM Eastern Time. Start date is immediate upon passing an employee background check.

Position Description

Intern responsibilities will include:

• Research prospective real estate assignments, including closed-end funds, open-end funds, separate accounts, programmatic joint ventures, and recapitalizations
• Prepare profiles ahead of meetings/calls with prospective investors and real estate managers
• Update and maintain various elements of the firm’s CRM database
• Assist in the preparation of weekly reports and other deliverables to the firm’s real estate clients
• Assist in the scheduling investor meetings, taking notes during calls, and confirming follow-up items
• Assist in the creation of materials to support real estate marketing efforts
• Assist in fielding institutional investors’ due diligence requests
• Research and compile notes on the real estate market and institutional investment trends

Compensation: Competitive hourly wage; commensurate with experience.

Position Requirements

The Intern position requires prior work experience (including prior internships) in investment management, investment banking, alternative investments, consulting, or another relevant field.  Competitive candidates will possess the following characteristics:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic understanding of commercial real estate investing; experience with alternative investments a plus
• Time management and organizational skills, with ability to manage competing priorities with limited oversight
• Entrepreneurial, with the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Desire and willingness to study and learn about new markets, investment products, and industry trends
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with Adobe Indesign a plus
• Outstanding academic credentials
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required; additional degrees or certifications a plus but not required
• Series 7 or 79 license a plus
• Experience in commercial real estate investment sales or investment banking a plus
