REAL ESTATE ANALYST

CASTLE LANTERRA PROPERTIES has an immediate opening for a highly motivated and entrepreneurial Real Estate Analyst. The Real Estate Analyst will assist the team to gather market intelligence, underwrite new acquisitions, and monitor performance of owned multifamily assets. The position affords direct participation and hands-on management of real estate transactions through the full life cycle from origination to realization. This position will also work opportunistically on cross-functional projects crucial to the success of the company.  Salary range to $65K.

This position is located in Suffern NY (Rockland County).

You will have the opportunity to:

• Perform detailed underwriting and assessment of investment opportunities

• Research property markets across the US, including demographic data, competitive property sales and leasing data

• Prepare offering memos for investment opportunities

• Prepare quarterly updates for partners

• Interact directly with property managers to understand and influence pricing, marketing and other decisions

• Monitor and track property taxes, insurance claims, debt service coverage ratios, delinquency rates

• Review and monitor monthly financial statements and variances to budget

• Assist with compliance for any contracts and loan documents

• Assist with due diligence for new acquisitions and financing

• Create and maintain property-level financial models and prepare hold/finance/sell recommendations and valuations

• Think critically and analyze information to provide meaningful insight and input into deals

• Work cross functionally with Accounting, Investor Relations, Operations, Acquisitions, Asset Management and Legal teams

We are looking for someone with:

• 1-3 years of real estate experience

• Excellent command of Excel with best practices of financial modeling, proforma creation, real estate valuation, sensitivity and income and expense analysis a plus

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with strong academic performance and achievement

• Strong writing skills; ability to simplify complex ideas into succinct messages

• Organizational skills to juggle multiple projects and initiatives

• Exceptional work ethic and attention to detail

• Strong analytical, quantitative, and critical thinking skills

• Self-starter who can thrive in a fast-paced environment

• Team player, humble attitude with a strong willingness/desire to learn
