Job Description
- Assist in all aspects of the loan origination process, including preparing financial models, structuring, term sheet and loan document negotiation, due diligence, and closing of investments, including transitional bridge loans, CMBS loans, mezzanine debt, and JV equity opportunities.
- Working directly with a Managing Director in the Originations Group to develop and maintain relationships with existing and new borrowers and brokers and other sources of commercial mortgage loan origination and other investment opportunities.
- Assist in the due diligence process, including presenting investment opportunities to Ladder’s investment committee for approval.
- Work closely with legal counsel and internal legal to negotiate term sheets, loan agreements, inter-creditor agreements and related legal documentation.
- Lead, train, and develop junior team members.
- Maintain collateral files for Ladder’s lenders, investors, rating agencies and internal asset management and trading departments.
- Perform property tours of prospective or active investment and new business travel as required.

BA/BS degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or related discipline preferred.

3-7 years of experience in the real estate finance industry (debt experience preferred).

Strong Microsoft Office skills, with a focus on Excel, knowledge of Argus Software a plus.
