Sound Point Capital Management, a credit-oriented asset manager overseeing $24 billion, is seeking an Originations Analyst to join its Commercial Real Estate team.  This is an opportunity to work on a fast growing, well-capitalized, commercial real estate credit platform with a core focus on the origination and acquisition of transitional debt investments throughout the United States.  We are building a multi-asset class CRE loan portfolio of first mortgages and subordinate debt positions focused on generating attractive risk-adjusted returns.

The Analyst position will primarily support the origination team in the initial analysis of loan opportunities and manage all aspects of loan underwriting and due diligence for the existing pipeline.  The Analyst will also be responsible for assisting all capital market related activities of the platform.

Overall, Sound Point has a diverse product line including CLOs, hedge funds, mutual funds and separately managed accounts. The firm employs approximately 90 talented individuals and has grown steadily since inception. This position is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to establish strong CRE underwriting and deal-evaluation skills

Job Responsibilities

• Reviewing offering memoranda.
• Preparing internal underwriting financial models and investment committee memos.
• Conducting site inspections and reviewing third party reports, operating statements, commercial lease and other property level documents.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience, with a Real Estate focus.
• Good foundation in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with Argus a plus, but not required.
• Excellent written and communications skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Team attitude.
• Be a highly motivated self-starter eager to help grow the CRE business.
