Description
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process vendor invoices and manage accounts payable
- Assist with bookkeeping
- Maintains database by entering, verifying, and backing up data; create operating expense database for real estate portfolio
- Assist with ad hoc accounting projects as assigned by management
- Increases productivity by developing automated accounting applications; coordinating information requirements
- Create monthly expense reports/P&L’s and provide variance analysis for management review
- Review monthly expenses to ensure that expenses are booked correctly and work with the accounting team to make any necessary reclassification
- Assist with the preparation of construction related draws
- Assist with month-end close process including preparation of recurring journal entries, account reconciliations, and accounts analysis
- Assists with preparation of financial statements and related schedules
- Assist in the annual audit and tax compliance by providing supporting documentation and analysis
- Assist with various aspects of inter-company transactions
- Carries out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical and professional manner
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting (must have completed intermediate accounting courses)
- Proficiency in English language in written and verbal required

- Strong understanding of accounting principles with an attention to detail
- Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from others
- Ability to efficiently multi-task, work well under pressure, meet deadlines and adjust priorities as needed
- Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to interpret data and present solutions to problems
- Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment
- Accounting/GAAP knowledge
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel & Access)
- Ability to complete projects timely and accurately
- Calculative mind with problem solving skills
- Good attention to detail for purposes of finding some of the obscure facts in their line of work
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency
WAGE AND SCHEDULE:
- Initial salary shall be $13.50 per hour paid bi-weekly
- Must be able to commit 15-20 hours a week for a minimum of 12-16 weeks beginning in June.
