The Commercial Investment Group of Kennedy Wilson is seeking a 2-3 year Senior Accountant, who is driven, motivated and a self-starter.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the month end process for the commercial investment group including posting journal entries, reconciling bank accounts and reconciling accounts.
  • Treasury functions including setting up wires, setting up new bank accounts and lockboxes, confirming wire instruction, capital calls and distributions
  • Calculating asset management fees and preparing fee invoices to send to properties
  • Property level accounting of retails portfolio

Qualifications:

  • Confident, articulate, self-starter
  • Minimum 2-3 years of accounting experience with an emphasis in the real estate industry
  • Prefer experience in both public accounting and private industry accounting, bur primarily in the property accounting space
  • CPA preferred, but not required

  • Be conscientious about achieving deadlines and have an accurate work product

  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner
  • Detail-oriented and very analytical
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Quantitative propensity with ability to spot errors
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Familiar and experienced in performance data returns
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting pronouncements in general
  • Understand variance analysis when comparing actual to budget or historical results
  • Understand how to read and write financial statements
  • Act as a good mentor to staff
  • Be able to enhance technological skills
  • Exceptional computer skills in the operation and functioning of all programs used by the organization, i.e., Excel, Word, YARDI (general ledger), Outlook E-Mail, and Internet research tools
  • Able to organize and summarize information in writing and to proofread work
  • Able to understand instructions and react favorably in work situations
  • Enjoy fast-paces, multi-task environment
  • Detailed, organized, and communicative
  • Task and goal-oriented and capable of functioning in an entrepreneurial and corporate setting
  • Able to work in a dynamic office setting
  • Able to work occasional evenings and weekends
