Job Description

Job Opening:  Loan Analyst/Loan Originations trainee. We are looking for an experienced commercial mortgage loan analyst or equivalent, who wants to gain the knowledge and experience to successfully move to loan origination.  Candidates should have:

 

  • Experience or education in commercial real estate
  • Ability to learn Churchill’s analyst methodology, then advance to an entry Loan Producer position
  • Desire social skills & tenacity that will enable building borrower contact base supporting loan originations.
  • College degree in Real Estate, Economics, Finance or a related discipline
  • Basic knowledge of commercial real estate terminology and concepts
  • Strong writing, communication, time management and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and research skills, including discounted cash flow analysis
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Excel and Word, and working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat;  Argus proficiency is desired but not required
  • Self-starter who acknowledges problems, seeks answers and enjoys analyzing CRE
  • Honesty and integrity always, team player

 Duties include:

 

  • Underwriting and preparing  loan packages using Churchill’s format, including:
    • Preparing financial analysis within Excel templates, including Proforma, operating history analysis, financial projections using discounted cash flow analysis, rent rolls, lease expiration analysis, market analysis, tenant analysis, source & use of funds
    • Preparing maps, subject photos and aerial photographs
    • Writing property, metro area and neighborhood descriptions
    • Preparing borrower descriptions, including analysis of borrower financial statements & credit history
    • Write concise, complete Investment Summary
    • Write Market analysis including rent and sale comparables
    • When required, write lease abstracts
  • Support loan servicing with property inspections and loan reviews on serviced loans
  • Assisting in the closing  of loans
