JOB SUMMARY
The Energy Analyst is the primary data, analytics & reporting support for the Global Energy & Sustainability Director. This role delivers actionable insights from utility, waste, and Client Sustainability KPI data and assists in the deployment and management of a comprehensive energy & sustainability program. This includes analysis from a variety of Client driven and CBRE driven programs. These initiatives and results could come from Energy and Water Engineering projects, Utility consumption and cost data, waste data, carbon reporting, sustainability initiatives and coordination with other Account and Platform Teams. This role will have a global scope interacting with client sites across North America and Europe.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review client-owned monthly electricity and natural gas/oil usage data, export and input into CBRE Sustainability Dashboard
- Capture, aggregate and review waste/recycling data
- Manage the accuracy of the CBRE Sustainability Dashboard
- Review project savings data and validate energy savings resulting from operational programs which curtail energy consumption.
- Identify any eligible rebates and incentives and manage capture of these incentives
- Lead the analysis of various informational outputs from partner systems, internal program components and system tools.
- Coordinate energy and sustainability initiatives, monitor compliance, analyze and communicate internally facing reporting.
- Prepare and analyze monthly sustainability KPI data and review with Energy and Sustainability Director to validate and identify progress for senior management, explanation of potential challenges and opportunities
- Work closely with Global Energy and Sustainability Director, project management teams and on-site staff in all levels of organization
- Work and coordinate with CBRE energy platform to enhance current service offering
- Manage Energy Star Portfolio Manager (ESPM), ensure data is up to date and accurate for specific subset of buildings in the Client portfolio.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Will coordinate, assign tasks to, and obtain updates from co-workers within a work unit and/or project, but is not responsible for formal supervision of employees.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university in Economics, Engineering, Sustainability or other related field and a minimum of one year of related experience and/or training.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
None required, CEM preferred.
COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex business documents. Possess excellent organizational skills and writing skills for reports, manuals, speeches, articles, and communications using distinctive styles and various delivery methods. Ability to respond effectively to complex inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, supervisor, and/or management. Ability to make effective presentations on complex topics to an internal department, large group of employees, clients, and/or management. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with client groups to take desired action.
FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE
Requires intermediate knowledge of financial terms and principles. Conducts intermediate financial analysis. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and averages.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.
OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Intermediate skills with remainder of MS Office Suite. Ability to learn and utilize applications such as Energy Star Portfolio Manager, and Tableau.
