About the job – “Hard Asset Trading”
You will analyze potential investment properties for institutional clients. Working alongside an Acquisitions team with 20+ years of experience, you will be trained to underwrite residential real estate, forming a foundation to execute dynamic SFR investment strategies. In the Acquisition Training Program, analysts will learn skills like rental comp analysis, property valuation, and renovation budget projection, as well as gain an understanding of macro/micro level SFR market drivers.
In this position you will be deploying millions of dollars of capital into residential real estate on a weekly basis, building portfolios, learning market trends, and tracking the performance of managed assets. You will be expected to visit markets around the country, inspect our assets, refining your expertise and knowledge of the asset class.
Avenue One maintains a lean acquisitions team enabled by technology and large data, motivating you to learn about every facet of the business and take on responsibilities outside of acquisitions. Understanding all parts of the asset’s life cycle will allow you to further your career at Avenue One and increase your knowledge of the SFR industry.
Required Experiences:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 1-5 years’ experience in real estate, acquisitions, or institutional sales, trading, or banking.
- Exemplary excel skills with a proven success incorporating analytics into decisions.

Responsibilities
- Underwrite and place bids on live SFR properties in multiple markets throughout the US
- Review renovations budgets with an eye toward optimization
- Monitor asset performance and market-level acquisition and rental trends
- Communicate performance and trends to internal and external parties
