Job Description

A highly regarded global investment manager is actively searching for an Asset Manager & Vice President, Construction Portfolio. The position involves asset management, financial analysis, and risk assessments on a complex regional loan portfolio, in addition to supporting the overall national asset management team. This position will be based in New York or Houston and will report to the Head of Portfolio Management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform asset management/investment manager duties for a sub-portfolio of the $30 billion CML portfolio throughout the United States and Canada. 

  • Assist the US CML Asset Management team in the Northeast in developing and implementing Construction loan monitoring best practices.

  • Support the asset and portfolio management functions in the review and approval of consent requests including loan modifications, complex loan re-structures, tenant leases/SNDAs, capital escrow accounts, construction loan draws, and condemnation/casualty issues. 

  • Participate in the underwriting, credit review and risk assessment of commercial real estate loans for existing loans.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of various projects/models/programs in conjunction with asset management of the commercial mortgage loan portfolio including technology solutions.

KEY ATTRIBUTES/EXPERIENCE

  • 7 to 12 years of experience in complex commercial mortgage Asset Management with additional knowledge/experience in real estate finance, UW and construction lending.

  • Strong technical and analytical skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.

  • Proficiency in the evaluation of commercial real estate utilizing Argus Enterprise/DCF and discounted cash flow modeling.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

  • The ability to multitask, work within a team environment and proactively lead projects.

  • Bachelor’s degree-advanced degree preferred.
