We are a regionally dominant self storage development and management company (under our Self Storage Plus brand) rapidly growing regionally and nationally. We are looking for a candidate to join our team as an Acquisitions and Development Analyst. 

The ideal candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter who is intellectually curious, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and adapts easily to rapid change.  The Acquisitions and Development Analyst will be involved in all stages of the investment process, with a focus on sourcing, underwriting, and closing ground-up developments and existing self storage assets. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Work closely with the VP of Acquisitions to acquire 8+ new development sites and 10+ existing self storage assets, annually.
  • Research and analyze viability of new self storage sites nationally.
  • Manage database of market data to accurately underwrite new acquisitions.
  • Work closely with operations and finance teams to take projects from concept to stabilization.
  • Create and manage project proforma’s along with the Vice President of Development.
  • Coordinate with Acquisitions and Finance teams on land and loan closings. 
  • Lead the on-boarding process of new stores and new developments along with the Director of Asset Management.
  • Research soft and hard costs for new development projects.
  • Engage in outreach to owners, developers, and key stake holders in the commercial real estate industry to grow the Arcland and Self Storage Plus brands.
  • Own the collection and analysis of data critical to the self storage operations and store performance.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Characteristics: 

  • Committed to driving positive outcomes to complex challenges
  • 3-5 years of commercial real estate development experience preferred
  • Strong analytical background with experience underwriting real estate transactions
  • Comfortable with complex Microsoft Excel and other Office software
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Opportunistic, entrepreneurial spirit, “go-getter”
  • Adaptable, ready to learn, and highly responsible 
  • Multi-tasking and effective time management
  • Effective telephone and in-person oral communication skills
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Works well independently and in a small office environment
  • Ability to lead and execute on initiatives 
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
