Real Estate Controller

Fritz Duda Company is a well-established Real Estate Investment, Development and Management Company based in Dallas, Texas. The Real Estate Controller is a senior finance position and reports to the COO.

Job responsibilities and duties:

• Oversees, directs, and reviews all monthly financial reporting and budgeting for the Company and properties, working closely with the COO and Property Manager.
• Developing management reporting for evaluating budgeted vs. actual performance.
• Oversees all managed and tracked entity books and records, on a tax basis and maintains balance sheet schedules.
• Presents monthly and quarterly reporting packages to the Board of Directors, management and owners.
• Manages staff of three accounting employees including one accounting manager.
• Prepares cash forecasts, and various management reports for the Company and properties.
• Oversee and manage the tax preparation and review of K-1’s and timely delivery of tax packages for all real estate entities to outside tax CPAs.
• Performs HR Functions for twenty-five employees, including Payroll, Benefits, 401K administration

Qualifications and Skills:

• BBA in accounting - CPA or MBA strongly preferred.
• 5 to 10 years of real estate property management accounting experience, retail a plus.
• Current Yardi Voyager experience strongly preferred.
• Excellent Excel financial modeling experience necessary.
• Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook experience necessary.
• Strong Leadership and ability to motivate employees.
• Meticulous and high standards for excellence.
• Professional and precise written and oral communication and presentation.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced small business environment.
