J.P. Morgan Global Alternatives is the alternative investment arm of J.P. Morgan Asset Management. With more than 50 years as an alternatives investment manager, $163 billion in assets under management and more than 600 professionals (as of December 31, 2020), we offer strategies across the alternative investment spectrum including real estate, private equity and credit, infrastructure, transportation, liquid alternatives, and hedge funds. Real Estate Americas, with $63 billion in assets under management, leverages 50 years of real estate investment experience across a 200-plus member team to deliver local expertise across strategies, sectors, regions and complex transactions. 

The Real Estate Americas business is seeking to hire an analyst for its New York-based investment team. Analysts on the investment team play an integral role in working alongside our asset managers and acquisition officers in overseeing a portfolio of assets, underwriting new acquisitions, and driving value to our investors. Individuals in this role are involved in the oversight and strategy implementation within the existing portfolio, assistance on development deals, the handling of dispositions, working through internal and external property valuations and completing various internal and external reports, and the underwriting and due diligence work associated with new deals..

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Underwrite transactions using Argus and Excel

· Create and utilize financial models for investment valuation

· Research and analyze market data

· Participate in property inspections and market tours

· Prepare presentations and written investment committee memos

· Perform due diligence to prepare acquisitions for closing

 

Qualifications

· Highly motivated and a self-starter

· Ability to work in a team environment

· Exceptional quantitative modeling and analytical skills

· Superior writing and verbal communication skills

· Strong presentation skills

· Ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic environment

· Attention to detail

· Proficient with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel

 · ARGUS experience is a plus

 

EXPERIENCE

The candidate should have 0-2 years of relevant work experience (real estate, investment management, or investment banking experience is preferred) 

 

TRAVEL

The candidate should be prepared to travel as needed
