Managing Director, Debt Origination & Structuring

Naftali Credit Partners a subsidiary of the Naftali Group has an immediate opening for a highly intelligent, motivated, and detail-oriented Managing Director to join our team located in New York City.

This is an opportunity for an individual to join a thriving, fast-paced, highly entrepreneurial firm. The ideal Managing Director candidate will have diverse experience in sourcing and structuring debt deals. The Managing Director will lead Naftali Group’s debt fund business and be responsible for sourcing debt deals and syndicating the fund. This position will require reporting directly to the executive team and creates an opportunity to grow the company’s debt fund business.

 ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Sourcing new lending opportunities
• Syndicating loan positions
• Overseeing financial analysis for the origination and underwriting of real estate loans
• Leading the due diligence process, physical and environmental investigations, valuation, market research, and effectively communicating potential risks or issues as they may arise
• Overseeing junior team members to prepare investment memoranda, financial analysis, and other presentations to investment committees for approval
• Working closely with legal counsel and internal legal to negotiate term sheets, loan agreements, inter-creditor agreements and related legal documentation
• Creating and maintain relationships with target borrowers, brokers, and advisors, which will provide a consistent pipeline of suitable investment opportunities
• Maintaining and updating collateral files for lenders, investors, rating agencies, and internal asset management and trading departments
• Provide monthly and quarterly financial reports to Fund investors as needed.
• Performing property tours of prospective or active investments
• Interface with borrowers, senior lenders, mortgage brokers, appraisers, engineers, and attorneys in order to close the approved loans in a timely manner
• Experience in purchasing Mezz notes in the secondary market

 QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate or related discipline preferred
• 7+ years of experience working in banking and real estate capital markets with exposure to bridge financing and cash flow modeling with senior loans and acquisitions
• Loan participation in the senior/subordinate Syndication Market in the Metropolitan area with different lenders and borrowers
• Must be proficient with MS Office with a focus on Excel, knowledge of Argus Software a plus
• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multi-task
• Exceptional interpersonal skills; and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience negotiating legal documentation (term sheets, loan documents and intercreditor agreements)
• Experience in asset and borrower due diligence in a transactional environment
• Strong capability to work on several deals at a time in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and entrepreneurial work environment
• Self-motivated worker with the ability and flexibility to work in a dynamic, team setting as well as independently
• Skilled communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, ability to facilitate and manage relationships
• Excellent written and editorial skills; polished presentation and speaking skills
