Job Description

Jamestown is recruiting for a Development Associate in our Boston office. The Associate will work on all aspects of development projects from pre-development through completion on projects located in New England, Charleston, South Carolina, and other geographic areas as needed. The Associate will also manage general corporate analysis, quarterly reporting and investment committee presentations for the development and construction group as required. This role will report to the Regional Director, Development and Construction in Boston.   


QUALIFICATIONS
: 

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience in ground-up development and/or major redevelopment for multiple project types with 3-5 years of development experience (from the principal side) in analyzing and managing development deals.
  • Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point            
  • Pro forma analysis, development underwriting, knowledge of the design/development process.
  • Budget, contract administration, monthly reporting for debt and equity partners.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Work in collaboration with the Development and Construction team on each project and manage the pro-forma analysis as well the development budgets for each project.
  • Develop pro-forma and analyze/underwrite potential acquisitions
  • Work closely with the acquisitions analyst on the procurement of equity and debt for development projects.
  • Prepare internal reports, project trackers, and development updates.
  • Provide analytical support for market research and research on product types
  • Develop and maintain positive, cooperative, team-oriented relationships with co-workers, supervisors, managers, clients and other as required for the job.
