To support our growth, we are looking for a Transactions Analyst focused on acquisitions to join our Transactions team in Chicago, IL. This team is responsible for providing financial and strategic analysis support related to the management and expansion of the Company’s portfolio of shopping centers. The Transactions team works closely with the Blackstone and all other departments at ShopCore to assess potential investments and bring new properties into the best-in-class ShopCore operating platform.

What you will do:

  • Analysis and support for underwriting, due diligence and closing of investments by collecting information and preparing, reviewing, and summarizing financial models, investment presentations, and supplemental analyses
  • Assist in modeling acquisition opportunities and conduct analyses on cash flow, valuation, and other assumptions
  • Produce and review investment packages by highlighting economic, demographic, and market data as well as delivering SWOT analyses for senior management at ShopCore and team members at Blackstone
  • Represent the team with external parties regarding transaction activity including the equity sponsor, partners, brokers, lenders, lawyers, and prospective investors
  • Coordinate due diligence efforts with external consultants and third parties, as well as internal departments including Leasing, Property Management, and Accounting
  • Spearhead special projects as directed by the CEO or EVP of Asset Management to improve investment evaluation criteria and strategy
  • Assume additional responsibilities and perform special projects as needed or directed

What you should have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, finance, or related field
  • 0-2 years of financial experience
  • Strong understanding of financial analysis concepts, including, but not limited to, rates of return, cash flows, net present value and realization
  • Understanding of general real estate capital markets and trends
  • Advanced knowledge of various financial and acquisition modeling techniques
  • Ability to interpret, analyze, and comprehend the results of the various financial models
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, excellent interpersonal and writing skills, ability to prioritize, high degree of integrity, and collaborative
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint preferred
  • Exposure to asset-level real estate financial modeling preferred
  • Previous experience in real estate private equity or REIT role preferred but not required
