BentallGreenOak is recruiting for an Intern, Business Analyst as part of the BGO Built to Lead Internship Program. As a BGO Built to Lead Intern, you will work alongside our industry leaders to help solve real-world challenges in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.  This is a paid 12-month developmental opportunity, and throughout the course of the placement, participants will have access to mentorship from senior leaders and to a formal training curriculum geared towards soft skills, business skills and leadership development. 

The Opportunity:

The Analyst will contribute to the success of the residential portfolio by overseeing specific projects related to delivery of reporting and analysis, market & financial analysis, leasing strategies, capital investment programs, operational efficiencies, and other value creation and/or improvement initiatives.

What You Will Do:

New Development and Process Improvement Initiatives

•  Assist in CRM system optimization, rental rate analysis and reporting;
•  Research, summarize and track specific multi residential market trends – e.g. identifying property leasing and occupancy trends and preferences to improve rental rates and resident experience;
• Assist with process improvements in leasing, marketing & operations;
•  Help prepare client/partner presentations and quarterly reports;
•  Assist integration with investment management to develop strategic plans for five identified properties;
•  Assist establishing a process for a suite renovation program;
• Assist with project approval process – including learning how to perform cost-benefit analysis, participate in tendering and implementation of project.
  
  

Process Automation/Technology

•  Assist implementation of rent optimization software by working with a 3rd party consultant;
•  Assist with implementation of new technology across portfolio;
• Assist in optimizing properties and internal teams through improvements, automation, and standardization of analysis using available technology.

Sustainability

•  Support the sustainability initiatives and participate in Fitwell certification submission.
  
  

Who You Are:

•  Interest in developing a career within the commercial real estate industry
•  Appetite for learning and growing your skillset
•  Active listener with professional presentation skills
•  Educational background in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance or Marketing
•  Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office
•  Strong organization/multi-tasking skills to allocate one’s time effectively and meet tight deadlines
•  Understanding of financial modelling, analysis and reporting with the ability to understand financial statements
•  Strong attention to detail
