PROPERTY ACCOUNTANT - Follow established accounting policies and procedures to perform full-cycle accounting functions in a property management environment.


POSITION SUMMARY
:
Under the direction of the Controller and CFO, the Property Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions required to produce monthly financial statements for properties owned by joint-venture structures or third parties. Accrual and Cash Accounting experience is required. Accuracy and timeliness in the completion of the workload is required in this position.


ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
:

  • Full-cycle A/R and A/P
  • Cash management at the property level to include loan entries and weekly/monthly bank reconciliations
  • Establish and maintain positive tenant/vendor relations to resolve outstanding items
  • Audit and research GL discrepancies, prepare corresponding entries
  • Perform monthly balance sheet analysis and reconciliations
  • Perform monthly operating expense analysis and reconciliations
  • Work effectively with property management team to facilitate accurate entries at the property level
  • Prepare timely and accurate entries for month-end close
  • Produce monthly financial reporting at the property level
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving and resolution
  • Ability to work independently and follow through on deadlines

WORK LOCATION:   The Woodlands, Texas


EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:

  • Degreed in accounting, finance, or business
  • Minimum five years in corporate accounting
