Job Description
PROPERTY ACCOUNTANT - Follow established accounting policies and procedures to perform full-cycle accounting functions in a property management environment.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Controller and CFO, the Property Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions required to produce monthly financial statements for properties owned by joint-venture structures or third parties. Accrual and Cash Accounting experience is required. Accuracy and timeliness in the completion of the workload is required in this position.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Full-cycle A/R and A/P
- Cash management at the property level to include loan entries and weekly/monthly bank reconciliations
- Establish and maintain positive tenant/vendor relations to resolve outstanding items
- Audit and research GL discrepancies, prepare corresponding entries
- Perform monthly balance sheet analysis and reconciliations
- Perform monthly operating expense analysis and reconciliations
- Work effectively with property management team to facilitate accurate entries at the property level
- Prepare timely and accurate entries for month-end close
- Produce monthly financial reporting at the property level
- Assist with internal and external audit requests
- Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed

- Ability to work independently and follow through on deadlines
WORK LOCATION: The Woodlands, Texas
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:
- Degreed in accounting, finance, or business
- Minimum five years in corporate accounting
