(“Redcar”) invests in urban commercial real estate in Los Angeles targeting LA’s high growth neighborhoods including Santa Monica, Culver City, Silver Lake, Chinatown, and Highland Park; additionally, Redcar has recently targeted an expansion into Austin, TX. Redcar, which currently has over $1.5 billion under management, acquires under-performing assets and adds value through specialized redevelopment, deep repositioning, and ground-up construction. Redcar is seeking an Analyst/Senior Analyst to support its Investments Team. The position, which will focus on acquisitions, asset management, and development, offers an opportunity to work across all functions of a vertically integrated real estate private equity company and has a direct impact on shaping the creative spaces that are redefining Los Angeles and Austin. The qualified candidate will join an entrepreneurial and rapidly growing team of over 40 professionals. Redcar is headquartered in Santa Monica, CA and the position will be based at the Company’s headquarters.
Responsibilities:
- Actively manage all phases of Redcar investment life cycle, including acquisition, pre-development, construction, leasing, and disposition
- Prepare detailed underwriting and financial models. Conduct market research and analysis to provide a basis for assumptions used in financial modeling. Interact with management, consultants, brokers and other market participants to both gather and verify research, assumptions and conclusion
- Prepare investment memos and proposals that are submitted to potential investors
- Participate in investment committee meetings and investor meetings, including reviewing and analyzing presentation materials.
- Track investments and business plan progress, perform quarterly financial model updates and projections utilizing financial modeling software (Excel and/or Argus) and prepare quarterly reports to investors
- Coordinate and analyze due diligence materials and communicate with all related parties in acquisitions, leasing, financings, and recapitalizations
- Originate and execute property financings and recapitalizations
- Coordinate and communicate with general contractors, architects, and other third parties to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of development process
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (real estate, business administration, finance, economics, or related concentration preferred)
- Strong work ethic and drive to work independently and with a team
- High level of proficiency in financial modeling – Excel skills required, Argus experience is a plus
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively internally and externally
