Closing Coordinator- Real Estate Commercial Mortgages
JLJ Capital is seeking a Closing Coordinator position for the purpose of coordinating commercial real estate loans. Responsibilities include managing and facilitating the closing process for a portfolio of complex, commercial real estate loan products that include but not limited to Single Family, and Multifamily properties for the purpose of land, bridge or ground up construction loans.
Activities include working with originators, underwriters and outside counsel to prepare loan documents in accordance with the lenders approval package. This includes overseeing the insurance process, reviewing zoning and title reports, planning cost review, environmental reports; complying with Enterprise flood standards; interacting with borrowers and vendors; and completing all documents, including closing statements, necessary for loan closing, The candidate must work well under pressure; be detailed oriented; capable of working multiple initiatives simultaneously; and work collaboratively across the different teams.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of experience in commercial real estate loan transaction closings.
- Able to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment which requires executive thinking and problem solving.
- Must be collaborative and comfortable communicating in a team oriented environment
- Ability to prioritize multiple competing tasks and manage time effectively in a fast paced environment
- Highly motivated and able to work independently
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Flexibility to work extended hours during heavy workload periods
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge in loan closings
- Ability to read and understand commercial real estate loan documentation
- Ability to read mortgage title policies as well as settlement statements
- Knowledge of real estate insurance requirements including flood and environmental insurance
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to coordinate between legal counsel and accounting to prepare wires for closings and final closing binder post closing.
