Job Summary
This is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated and technically proficient financial analyst to work with an entrepreneurial private equity firm that’s rapidly expanding. This position will support the investment originations and fundraising teams. The analyst will conduct a wide range of real estate financial analysis, with an emphasis on new investment opportunities and existing asset performance. Primary responsibilities include creating and analyzing detailed financial spreadsheets, underwriting, and performing due diligence on potential investment opportunities, and conducting market research and analysis. On the fundraising side, the analyst will work directly with the firm’s partners in all capital raising and investor relations matters.
Essential Functions
Essential Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Originations/Acquisitions
- Prepare and update joint venture waterfall models for NREP’s investors.
- Coordinate with the originations team to maintain the investment pipeline on daily basis.
- Underwrite potential investment opportunities and prepare pro-forma cash flow and return analysis.
- Oversee and maintain the deal room to ensure that all requested due diligence items from sponsors and operating partners are properly filed and analyzed.
- Organize and present data analysis, draw objective conclusions, and make recommendations.
- Conduct market research utilizing Costar’s capabilities and other market research databases.
- Prepare investment summaries, deal memos, presentations, and other documents for the investment committee.
Fundraising and Investor Relations
- Develop and maintain a consistent investor outreach strategy.
- Assist NREP’s Partners in investor meeting preparations and in coordinating roadshows.
- Support all capital raising efforts including creating and updating marketing materials, responding to investor due diligence questionnaires, and compiling and managing a variety of different documents and data points.
- Proactively maintain and monitor investor CRM database and support general marketing and PR efforts as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from accredited university, preferably in Finance or Accounting.
- Two to three years of previous experience in investment banking, real estate, private equity, and accounting background preferred.
- Strong verbal and communication skills.
- Ability to allocate time effectively, work under pressure, and prioritize workload and meet multiple deadlines.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Extreme attention to detail to all aspects of the analyst’s responsibilities.
