The Position:

Kitson & Partners is seeking a Chief Financial Officer for our corporate office in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.


  • Oversees all accounting and financial activity for the company.
  • Provides key leadership to promote and implement process improvement, collaboration, and integration across K&P accounting and financial functions.
  • Provides financial and strategic thinking and solutions to drive the company’s short-term and long-term goals and objectives.
  • Advises executive management regarding risks and opportunities to improve the company’s overall financial performance.
  • Assists in formulating K&P’s future direction by providing input on the strategic business plan and advising the company on financial and tax strategies, budgeting, audit functions, and forecasting.
  • Provides ongoing financial analysis of development and operational results against the business plan and budget.
  • Collaborates with and directs multi-disciplinary teams including selecting, evaluating, and directing external consultants, bankers, and vendors.
  • Builds strong relationships with business partners, auditors, executive team, and stakeholders.
  • Overall responsibility for cash management and controls, accounting, audit, tax planning and financial reporting.
  • Develops and directs finance and accounting policies, practices, procedures, and initiatives.
  • Ensures preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, stakeholder reports and tax returns.
  • Assures accuracy, timeliness, and conformity with professional accounting standards and best practices in accordance with GAAP and IRS rules and regulations.
  • Identifies, acquires, and implements systems /software critical to the accounting and finance areas to automate processes and increase efficiency.
  • Oversees the month-end close process, reviewing all month-end activities including general ledger accounts, balance sheet accounts and overhead cost allocation.
  • Oversees bank accounts, cash management, wire authorizations, and cash transfers.
  • Oversees the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements / reports, and special analyses to present to executive leadership team and external authorities.
  • Manages financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and analysis activities by implementation of tools for budgeting and forecasting.
  • Implements policies, procedures, and processes to comply with regulatory and internal audit requirements.
  • Builds, develops, and mentors a team of accounting and finance staff and expands the culture of K&P across the company as a key leader.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with active CPA certification preferably in the State of Florida
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in a senior level finance or accounting leadership position
  • Real estate industry experience
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience overseeing corporate tax planning and tax filings
  • Experience managing the internal and external financial reporting process
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Timberline, Timberscan and other professional / pertinent accounting software
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to connect and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Inspirational team leader with ability to mentor and develop a strong, cohesive group of financial and accounting team members
