The Mulholland Drive Company is seeking a bright, motivated Real Estate Investment Analyst to take a key role in sourcing, underwriting, and negotiating potential acquisition and development opportunities. This position is ideal for an upstart who is eager to learn the business from the ground-up in an entrepreneurial setting and gain a strong foundation of real estate investing principles. The candidate will be an early stage hire in a rapidly growing company and gain significant experience across all aspects of real estate finance, acquisitions, and asset management to be groomed as a future partner in the firm.

The Mulholland Drive Company is an opportunistic real estate investment and development firm based in Los Angeles with investments in a broad array of asset classes, sectors, and geographies across the United States. Taking a generalist approach to investing, the company has a diverse portfolio of both debt and equity investments in retail, industrial, multifamily, and land assets and is currently active in single tenant net lease retail, hospitality, multifamily housing, single family subdivisions, self-storage, and other commercial investment and development projects throughout the United States. The firm sources and manages all of its investments directly via its integrated investment platform and proprietary operating capabilities to yield long-term value and strong risk-adjusted returns for its institutional joint venture capital partners.
Responsibilities:
The Real Estate Investment Analyst will receive significant deal acquisitions, underwriting, and execution responsibilities across a wide range of opportunities. Typical responsibilities include:
- Sourcing and underwriting new acquisition opportunities and management of deal pipeline through diligent pursuit of target locations and properties.
- Detailed research of municipal zoning codes and California planning laws.
- Spearheading research to support new investment strategies.
- Preparing investment memoranda and financial analyses for presentation to the firm’s principals.
- Working and coordinating directly with third party vendors, brokers, lenders, and consultants on process management, due diligence, structuring, and negotiations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university.
- Top marks on SAT, ACT, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated interest and passion for real estate via internships during college.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Driven self-starter that does not need ongoing supervision.
- Exceptional analytical, quantitative, conceptual and creative thinking aptitude.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel and Word) a plus but not required.
- Knowledge and understanding of California planning and zoning laws a plus but not required.
