Real Estate Asset Management and Acquisition Analyst Opportunity
Our New York based, fully-integrated, operationally focused private real estate investment management and ownership firm is seeking a driven, experienced Analyst to assist with acquisitions and asset management of multifamily and student housing assets. We currently oversee ~$2.5B of assets and are rapidly growing. The firm has deep roots across numerous real estate sectors and is well-known for its expertise in on- and off-campus student housing, multifamily apartment communities, and mixed-use retail/residential communities.
The professional we are seeking to join our firm will be a very integral part of our organization, working daily with the entire team. The individual we are seeking should recognize a real estate asset as an investment, understanding that any decision made for the property would have an impact on its financial performance. You will be responsible for compiling various financial analysis to better reflect and manage property performance and help make decisions that drive bottom line numbers. In addition, you will be responsible for completing market analysis and assisting in the underwriting of new assets to help identify asset types and markets for our company to grow.
Key Position Highlights
- Prepare market and ongoing property analysis, including trends and comp reports based on market surveys and conditions gleaned from site tours and research
- Responsible for conducting regular market research
- Prepare financial analysis to support budget recommendations and ongoing revenue and expense analysis to enhance portfolio performance
- Update and monitor financial models for analysis for projects/assets in the portfolio
- Compile data for monthly partner/investor reporting
- Analyze monthly financial reports and performance and develop variance analysis to budgets and proformas
- Assist in revenue management strategy
- Assist during acquisition and disposition of properties
- Liaise with internal team and with property management to implement the above
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Prior work in real estate and/or finance with 1-3 years’ working experience
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modeling
- Core knowledge of real estate principles, finance and accounting
- High attention to detail, organized, and self-directed individual eager to learn
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
