About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Commercial Mortgage Pursuit Specialist within our specialized screening team which focuses on seniors and student housing for agency and multi-family and student housing for balance sheet executions.  The role perform basic and some more advanced functions to support commercial real estate loan origination, underwriting and/or real estate analysis, underwriting and/or marketing functions (e.g., due diligence, document processing, research, financial/statistical analysis, etc.) related to transactions. In this role, you will:

  • Review and approve loan quotes, applications, and rate lock agreements for balance sheet transactions for multifamily properties of all types (conventional, affordable, seniors, student and manufactured housing communities) in Wells Fargo Multifamily Capital

  • Screen and structure balance sheet opportunities

  • Identify opportunities and strategies for process improvement and risk control development

  • Receive direction from manager and exercise independent judgment

  • Interpret policies, procedures, and compliance requirements

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

  • Interact with internal customers

  • Present transactions to Credit for approval

  • Provide guidance and assistance to the other Commercial Mortgage Pursuit teams as they evaluate and structure balance sheet opportunities, and assist with presentation to Credit

There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Anticipated Pay: $200,000.00 - $250,000.00 USD Annually


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Business Client Management, leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Completion of a bank credit training program

  • 3+ years of Commercial Real Estate industry experience

  • Commercial Real Estate credit underwriting experience

  • Strong technical writing skills

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills

  • Ability to achieve high production and quality standards

  • Ability to address and resolve complex customer issues

  • Ability to articulate issues, risks, and proposed solutions to various levels of staff and management

  • Ability to be proactive, innovative and creative in meeting customer and enterprise needs

  • Ability to coordinate completion of multiple tasks and meet aggressive time frames

  • Outstanding problem solving skills

  • A BS/BA degree or higher

Pay Range

$144,400.00 - $300,000.00 Annual
