Job Description
Overview:
The intern will be exposed to the manner in which commercial and multi-family investments are sourced, underwritten, investigated, and closed, as well as how they are managed from a high-level during their operations. They will be exposed to the acquisitions, development, asset management and capital markets side of private equity real estate. Through supporting the various teams within the organization, the candidate will have the opportunity to apply knowledge and skills learned in school, while acquiring valuable real-world experience. The assignment will last up to 12 weeks, beginning at the end of the semester and ending prior Fall semester.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
- Perform the initial load of prospective deal underwriting into CBC financial models that will then be maintained by the intern
- Participate in conversations with market participants to refine the underwriting of prospective investment opportunities
- Assist in the process of ushering prospective investments through CBC’s investment committee process
- Performa market research evaluating macro market trends, individual market dynamics, and property specific comparables.
- Assist in analysis, drafting, and execution of business plans across the portfolio and for new acquisitions.
- Assist in debt term analysis for potential projects.
- Assist in the creation of screening and investment Committee packages
- Other duties as assigned
Work Experience/Knowledge:
- Strong Excel user
- Ability to quickly process large quantities of data into succinct financial models.
- Detail oriented and exceptional organizational skills a must
- Strong research skills required
- Experience in multifamily is preferred.

Education Level:
- Attainment of a graduate degree in a business/real estate/investment field is in process or completed
