Job Description

Peak Capital, a privately held real estate investment firm focused on value-add multifamily real estate across prime areas of NYC is seeking to hire an acquisitions associate, who wants to work with our team in a friendly, entrepreneurial environment and has the ability to take on a key role. The role will report to the firm’s co-founder and will be part of a lean but rapidly growing team. Organization, time management and timely communication will be key success factors in performance.

Essential job responsibilities

Review and underwrite potential investment opportunities
Model and forecast asset performance, projected returns, varying debt scenarios, and equity waterfalls
Participate in the sourcing process by communicating with brokers, preparing LOI’s and buyer questionnaires
Participate in the due diligence process by coordinating and participating in site visits and market assessments
Work with asset and constructions management teams to conduct due diligence and develop business plans
Perform detailed market research on supply/demand fundamentals, economic trends, comparable sales, vacancy, and rental rates
Manage the closing process, working with title, escrow, legal, seller, and brokers to ensure timely and efficient closings
Work with lenders and mortgage brokers to obtain and compare loan quotes and manage the closing process
Maintain the firm’s potential investment pipeline, participate in weekly pipeline meetings, and create investment committee memoranda

Ideal candidate will have the following qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Real Estate, Business Administration, or related field of study.
At least 1-3 years of real estate or finance experience
Multifamily experience a plus, but not required
Advanced/expert proficiency with Microsoft Excel
