Job Description

As part of CBRE's global Corporate Communications team, this role is focused on driving communications priorities in support of and aligned with the firm's overall business strategy. The ideal candidate will develop a clear internal comms strategy for the CBRE Investment Management business that delivers multi-channel internal communication programs utilizing modern, internal communications best practices.

The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer and clear, concise communicator who will help drive strategic priorities and initiatives and enhance company culture through communications.

The ideal candidate for this role will bring proven expertise in effective communications strategies for a global employee audience; a deep understanding of various communications channels and how to employ them effectively (i.e., email, intranet, video, Teams, Yammer, town halls); a working understanding of Sharepoint and other internal comms technologies (ie Cerkl Broadcast), as well as a demonstrated interest in new technologies that aim to modernize internal communications; experience performing internal comms evaluation and measurement; and an ability to conceptualize and direct visual storytelling that supports the written word.

The ideal candidate will also be skilled at working directly with senior executives to find and articulate their unique voice, within the larger voice of the company and its brand.

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with senior Corporate Communications leaders, develops and delivers communication strategies, plans and initiatives.


  • Advises on, creates and delivers clear and concise strategic messaging and content across a variety of internal communications channels, including executive communications, events, town halls, intranet, email, newsletters, PPT decks, video, etc.


  • Supports internal events including planning, logistics, messaging and presentation materials.


  • Creates and maintains content on employee intranet.


  • Measures and reports on communication activities.


  • Regularly partners with other members of the Corporate Communications team, regional and global business leaders, and cross-functional partners including the People team, Marketing and Research to ensure messaging alignment across all channels.
  • Reviews and edits output of other team members and other duties as required.

Able to uncover interesting angles to drive staff engagement.

Experience developing clear, strategic, organized and actionable Communication plans aligned to business strategy. Able to distill large amounts of information into clear, concise messaging.

Collaborative partner. Adept at building internal relationships/dialogue-collaborating up, down and across the organization-to facilitate process. Able to serve several audiences while remaining committed to generating the right result.

Excellent writing and communications skills. Able to create compelling messages using the written word across a variety of formats to drive the company's vision and strategy forward. Able to write speeches and articles that reflect leaders' unique voices within the larger voice of the company and its brand, and make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees and top management.

Strong attention to detail, including strong editing/proofreading capabilities and interest in achieving the highest quality deliverables and outcomes possible.

Solid organizational, project management and multi-tasking skills that engage people across the business and enable strategic planning to move forward efficiently and effectively.

Energetic, enthusiastic and people-oriented. Enjoys working with different personalities and can adapt to/accommodate others' working styles to get things done.

Service-oriented and responsive. Works well under deadlines. Knows how to prioritize, keep projects running smoothly and manage the expectations of everyone involved.

Corporate sensibilities. Able to respond effectively to sensitive issues; solve problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations; handle basic calculations and understand basic financial terms and principles.

Experienced communications professional. Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 5-7 years of related experience. Knowledge of commercial real estate (or a related industry) is a plus but is not required.

Technical proficiency. Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with content management systems is a plus.

Colorado/New York City/Washington state & California Residents: CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Internal Sr Comms Mgr position is 135000 annually and the maximum salary for the position is 150000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program.
