About the role
Responsible for the management of all core responsibilities related to escrow operations. The functional responsibility includes: ensuring proper insurance coverage including monitoring of expirations, deficiencies and reviews. Real Estate tax processing and UCC filings, continuations and modifications.
What you'll do
- Supervise insurance expirations, review and deficiency follow-up. Develop and supervise appropriate exception and status reports and follow-up to ensure Investor and loan level timelines are met. Connect with investors regarding problem issues.
- Review and ensure status reports for property tax payments to ensure taxes are paid timely, accurately and prior to any economic loss date to avoid penalties.
- Review UCC documentation and reports for new filings, continuance and modification requirement compliance and oversight.
- Handle the non-escrow monitoring, escrow analysis, escrow shortages, exception reports, delinquent tax resolution processes. Reviews and approves appropriate escrow disbursement check and wire requests.
- Run E&O (Errors and Omissions) corporate insurance programs.
- Develop, maintain, update, and communicate departmental procedures to ensure all activities are completed timely and accurately.
- Run applicable vendor relationships. Ensures service legal agreements are met and approves payments. Participates with legal on resolution of contractual issues.
- Lead off shore team to ensure completion of assigned properties in accordance with operating procedures.
- Provide formal supervision and mentorship to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Recommends staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, other business related curriculum from a four-year college or university required. Minimum of 5 years related experience with mortgage loan servicing in: loan operations, mortgage closings or other related areas of mortgage servicing. Experience in handling supervising or developing a team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information. Ability to respond to issues.
Requires sophisticated knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions.
Ability to tackle problems involving several options in situations. Requires sophisticated analytical and quantitative skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Products including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Must have the ability to work on computer database. Understanding of the McCracken Strategy loan servicing software is helpful. Experience in query tools and/or understanding general concepts in SQL queries. Must read and comprehend loan document verbiage related to financial terms, loan triggers and covenants as well as understand the general loan closing process with standard servicing requirements.
Decisions made with detailed understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and timelines. Responsible for setting work unit and/or project timelines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to department.
