Real Estate Development Manager

 

 

Job Summary:  As real estate development manager, you will be responsible for the entire process to develop self-storage and industrial projects. The development manager will work with the real estate team to successfully execute the company’s real estate development strategies while delivering completed projects timely and within budget.  

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Management, or related field; or equivalent, experience and knowledge
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in real estate development, preferably in self-storage or industrial projects.
  • Strong understanding of financial modeling and working with a project proforma.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong negotiating skills.
  • Ability to successfully manage employees while completing your own job duties.
  • Ability to prioritize time and responsibilities to fulfill primary goals and complete numerous details that accompany each project.
  • Should have personal qualities of persistence, diplomacy, and organization.
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the site selection, negotiation, due diligence, and purchasing of land processes in support of development opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain internal and external professional relationships including brokerage community, business owners, vendors, economic development officials, attorneys, and governmental leaders.
  • Conduct market research in specified geographical locations to identify trends and needs in areas of interest to the company.
  • Analyze potential sites/projects, including producing proformas and project overviews.
  • Coordinate and monitor design, project management and construction activities, including project schedules and budgets.
  • Effectively communicate and present project overview to executive team.
  • Provide leadership to development team comprised of internal team members and external consultants.

 

Position Status and Work Schedule: Full-time, M-F days, requires travel, at times extensive. Work from the office in Edina, MN with occasional remote work possible
