Job Description
Job summary
This role will assist and support the evaluation of compliance and arbiter data, to develop machine learning algorithms to interrogate data, and to develop and implement a scaling stack to develop products for the purpose of business intelligence.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Works on assigned multidisciplinary team research or analytical projects using sophisticated computational algorithms.
- Applies the tools of modern data science using unfolded source architecture to the analysis of CBRE's proprietary data
- Supports data research efforts for product development for internal and external clients.
- Develops custom algorithms for solving real-estate business problems across a wealth of structure and unstructured data across multiple data sources.
- Supports the Senior Scientist in the tracking and evaluation of data sources.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory responsibilities
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate and assign tasks to co-workers within a work unit and/or project.

Education and Experience
Masters or Ph.D. degree from credible school in applied data science computer science, engineering, applied math or related degree. Minimum 3-4 years of experience in statistical analysis, data engineering, and data visualization. Consideration given to equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates and/or Licenses
Data Scientist Certification or equivalent combination of experience and/or education.
Communication skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to internal customers. Ability to optimally present information.
Financial knowledge
Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis.
Reasoning ability
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
Other Skills and/or Abilities
Proven knowledge of R and/or Python, together with SQL.
Demonstrated knowledge of standard machine learning algorithms, based on "An Introduction to Statistical Learning" by James et. al. or similar textbook. Demonstrated knowledge of strengths, weaknesses, and real-world performance of the ML algorithms.
Demonstrated knowledge of web scrapping and data preprocessing.
Scope of responsibility
