We target markets with high barriers to entry for ground up development of multi-family and commercial real estate assets. We have developed or acquired properties exceeding $600 million throughout the United States, with a primary focus on California and New Mexico, since inception. Our team is responsible for the entire life cycle of a development project, acquisition through completion and stabilization. The company’s vertically integrated platform includes in-house development, finance, accounting, legal, asset management and construction teams. In addition to our legacy retail portfolio, we currently own and operate a multi-family portfolio consisting of 522 operational units, 615 units under construction, 236 units ready for construction in 2023 and 422 units ready for construction in 2024. In terms of total long-term assets, the company grew 84% in 2021, 49% in 2022 and is on track to grow 54% by the end of 2023.
Job Description
In the context of sustained growth, Tekin & Associates is pursuing further development of its in-house finance team and is seeking to strengthen and invest in the finance department. The position reports to the President in the Frisco, Texas office. The role will act as the firm’s lead and primary point of contact for implementation of the company’s corporate and project-level debt and equity strategies on new ground-up multifamily development projects in California, New Mexico, Texas and Florida.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain the company’s development pipeline report
- Formulate and execute financial strategies for debt and equity to facilitate new development project capital needs
- Maintain the weekly status summary of the projects active financing needs
- With support from asset management, underwrite new development projects and maintain the company’s financial model
- Prepare debt and equity placement offering memorandums to solicit land loans, construction loans, preferred equity, common equity and permanent financings for the company’s assets
- Provide estimated common equity requirements of the company to the accounting team to maintain accurate cash flow forecasting
- Interface with the company’s debt and equity outside counsel to negotiate term sheets and debt and equity agreements
- Interface with new and existing debt and equity relationships
- Manage the company’s internal database of debt and equity contacts
- Facilitate lender underwriting and due diligence requests
- With support from accounting, asset management and construction team members, prepare month to month budget comparisons for operating assets and construction in progress
- Other needs and tasks as may be required by the company

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree - Finance, Economics and/or Real Estate is preferred
- 5-7 years of directly relevant work experience in a finance role, preferably at a top-tier development, investment management, private-equity, or advisory firm
- Working relationships within real estate industry

Office Hours
This position requires in-person attendance at the Company’s office in Frisco, Texas.
Travel Requirements
