Analyst - Real Estate Investments

Journey Capital is seeking an investment professional to join our growing organization. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to the team and gain exposure to several areas of the real estate investment business. The candidate’s primary responsibilities include participating in the acquisition and asset management of institutional quality real estate investments throughout the United States. The Principals of Journey Capital collectively have over 25 years of experience in the real estate industry and have participated in over $10 billion of transactions. The platform is growing rapidly and presents an opportunity to participate in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment working alongside the company’s leadership team.

Responsibilities:

• Participating in sourcing, underwriting, and execution of commercial real estate acquisitions.
• Assisting in researching target markets, analyzing investment opportunities, formulating asset business plans, preparing investment memorandum, and coordinating acquisition activities.
• Communicating with property management personnel to monitor asset level operations by conducting site visits and discussing leasing, occupancy, capex and/or renovation programs.
• Analyzing financials to benchmark property performance and comparing to budget, in order to formulate appropriate asset-level decisions.
• Leading the preparation of asset-level operating budgets.
• Assisting in weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting of the portfolio.
• Participating in the preparation of investor presentations and reporting.

Requirements:

• Excel modelling skills, highly analytical, ability to work independently, and detail oriented.
• Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing, excellent interpersonal skills.
• General financial, accounting and/or capital markets understanding with real estate knowledge/experience.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines, manage varied tasks simultaneously, work within a team in an entrepreneurial environment.
