Job Description
Hilco Real Estate has an immediate opening in its Northbrook, IL office for an associate to support its property valuation and sale teams. We are actively seeking an analytical, forward-thinking individual who will play a pivotal role in business development and revenue generation for the company, focused on market research and (Excel-based) property modeling work related to prospective and current sale listing engagements, direct investments and other special projects. The Associate will analyze macro industry trends and summarize property and sub-market data, with the objective of enhancing the efficiency and productivity of Hilco Real Estate’s senior valuation expert/MAI (in addition to supporting various other individuals and teams when necessary). This role will also have access to comprehensive mentorship/training, providing an excellent foundation for individuals looking to begin and/or enhance their real estate career.
Job Responsibilities:
- Researching, analyzing and reporting on detailed property, market and industry sector information which allows dealmakers to make informed business calls and decisions about agency and equity opportunities in the market.
- Provide essential support to the new business process by creating pro forma cash flow modeling and incisive analysis that provides valued insight into prospective asset sales, receivership and asset management engagements.
- Contribute to screening, underwriting and valuation of strategic equity investments,
- Assist in preparation of client presentations and offering memorandums.
- Work hand-in-hand with multiple departments across the organization to cultivate strong relationships, contribute to pivotal growth initiatives, and broaden your knowledge base
- A variety of other transaction-specific projects as assigned.
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in business, economics, or related field) with exemplary academic performance.
- 2+ years of relevant work or internship experience; a background in the commercial real estate industry is preferred.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Qualifications:
- Technically proficient; fluency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel a must), advanced internet search skills and ability to quickly comprehend, synthesize, present and utilize market research tools and data sources.
- Keen interest in and basic understanding of financial modeling, finance, and accounting concepts, with strong modeling skills and core competency with Excel and Argus.
- A desire to learn both the business development process and team operations.
