About the role
We are looking for an Associate that can help guide the future improvement of performance and risk reporting for portfolios led within the Americas Direct Real Estate business! They will be charged with leveraging data from internal platforms and external providers to tackle analytical problems and provide insights to the Investment teams, Investor Services teams, and Senior Management. The Analytics Team aids in the management of real estate portfolios through performance calculations, attribution analysis, monitoring & maintenance of industry benchmarks, risk monitoring and reporting, preparing marketing materials, and responding to ad-hoc data related requests. The focus of the role is to work with the business to generate data driven insights to aid in decision making.
What you'll do
- Provide support for quarterly portfolio monitoring process and ongoing analytics to supervise the strategic asset allocation, performance measurement, attribution analysis, and risk analysis.
- Improve and maintain market data results including industry benchmarks.
- Write concise and educational reports on key trends and insights that will help senior leadership make informed decisions about the future of the funds.
- Build analytic tools and build datasets that provide customized reporting for both internal and external distribution.
- Identify and implement data/process improvements (VBA, Python, sophisticated excel, etc.)
- Aid in management of the relationship with third party administrator for generation of performance, quarterly client requests/questionnaires, and RFP responses.
- Serve as a supplying member of global task forces related to the dissemination of portfolio details through dashboarding or reporting.
- Assist the team with additional ad hoc projects and requests as needed.

What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in finance (or relevant field) with minimum five years of professional related experience.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint. Proficiency in data visualization (Power BI/Python) is beneficial.
- Familiarity with portfolio management and analytic functions across illiquid asset classes including private equity, private debt or real assets.
- Strong understanding of GIPS® Standards. Understanding of NCREIF Indices and Methodology is beneficial.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills to comprehend and interpret data. Demonstrated ability to use statistical analysis to gain insight.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

CBRE Investment Management carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for this position is $110,000 annually and the maximum salary for this position is $120,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE IM's applicable benefit program.
