About the role

The Director of Corporate Communications will own the internal and external communications strategy and execution for the Advisory & Transactions Services business segment, which includes property leasing and consulting services across Retail, Industrial, Office, Life Sciences and Healthcare sectors. This individual will provide executive communications support for senior leadership and lead a team of communications professionals.

What you'll do

Directly supporting the leadership team, you will work with executives to articulate their unique voice both internally and externally, in alignment with the larger voice of the company and its brand. Must be a hands-on communicator and leader. Must collaborate seamlessly with communications peers in other business lines and business segments as well as Research, Marketing, Digital & Technology, and other functions.

  • Develop and deliver communication strategies, plans and initiatives, both internally and externally that align with the team's goals and objectives.
  • Provide executive communications support to senior leaders, including internal messaging, speaking engagements, social media, PR and client engagement.
  • Advise on, create and deliver clear and concise essential messaging and content across various internal communications channels, including executive communications, events, town halls, intranet, email, newsletters, PPT decks, video, etc.
  • Lead, empower and mentor a small team within corporate communications, who support the line of business.
  • Support meetings and events, including planning, logistics, messaging and presentation materials.
  • Conduct metrics and report on communication activities.
  • Partner with additional members of the Corporate Communications department, regional and global business leaders, and cross-functional partners, including Marketing and Research to ensure messaging alignment across all channels.
  • Contribute to, review and edit the output of team members.


What you'll need
  • Proven experience in Public Relations, corporate communications or PR agency, with a minimum of 2 in a manager capacity; Internal communications a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in journalism, marketing and/or communications.
  • Outstanding writing capabilities that showcase eloquent communication with an ability to translate business strategies and initiatives into compelling, accessible messaging for various audiences.
  • Deep expertise in effective communications strategies for a dynamic, global employee audience; a deep understanding of various communications channels and how to employ them effectively (i.e., email, intranet, video, Teams, Yammer, internal media walls, town halls).
  • Proven success in driving storytelling through PR and social media.
  • Experience developing clear, organized and concrete Critical Communication plans aligned to business strategy. Able to distill large amounts of information into clear, concise messaging.
  • Strong ability to multi-task to handle several projects simultaneously while remaining flexible to changing business requirements and priorities.
  • Collaborative partner adept at building internal relationships/dialogue-collaborating up, down and across the organization-to facilitate productive processes. Able to serve several audiences while remaining committed to generating the right result.
  • Able to create compelling messages using the written word across a variety of formats to drive the business vision and strategy forward. Able to write speeches and articles using either the corporate tone of voice or a style reflective of respective leaders.
  • Strong attention to detail, including excellent editing/proofreading capabilities and desire to achieve the highest quality deliverables and outcomes possible.
  • Upbeat and people oriented. Enjoy working with different personalities and can adapt to/accommodate others' working styles to get things done.
  • Service minded and adaptable. Knows how to prioritize, keep projects running efficiently and lead the expectations of everyone involved.
