The Construction Project Engineer Intern is responsible for maintaining an organized project from Request for Proposals through close-out documentation. This position works closely with the Project Manager (PM) and Superintendent to facilitate all construction documentation, ensure proper processes are followed, identify any missing or incorrect information, and relay to the appropriate party, all while acting with the design team or construction team to ensure the right information is in the hands of the people putting work in place. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and tools associated with construction, design, and development.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential functions of the job will include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Ability to read Plans and Specification Manuals, with a high emphasis on learning the company product.
• Keeps an organized project folder (digital and physical) for each project they are assigned.
• Works with the Superintendent to track work in place in the field against the baseline master schedule. Will be required to perform weekly updates to the master schedule file.
• Performs quantity take-offs for site-specific and unit mixes for each project they are assigned.
• Will assist the PM during bidding and estimating phases in tracking down qualified bidders and inputting into bid leveling sheets.
• Responsible for issuing and tracking RFI’s until their completion.
• Maintains the submittal schedule for each project they are assigned.
• Tracks all documents for subcontractor pay applications and the owners pay application for submission to the lenders.
• Able to get submittals in a timely manner from Subcontractors and vendors for submission to the design team for review and if required resubmission until completion.

• A strong willingness to learn.
• A working knowledge of Construction Drawings and Specifications.
• Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from others.
• A motivated self-starter that will manage and complete priorities.
• Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and adjust priorities as needed.
• Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Intermediate Skills with Microsoft Office suite.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related major.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English language is required.
WAGE AND SCHEDULE
• Initial pay shall be $13.50 per hour paid bi-weekly.
• Must be able to commit 20-24 hours a week for a minimum of 9-12 weeks for spring internships.
