The Associate, Investments position (Infrastructure Focus) is based at our corporate headquarters in Los Angeles and supports the Infrastructure Investments team through financial analysis, research, transaction execution, and ongoing management and governance through the lifecycle of an investment. 

 

The Associate, Investments role is an integral part of the CIM team working directly with Investment Leads, Principals, and Founders. You’ll work in a supportive, growth-oriented environment and, while focusing on infrastructure investments, will also gain valuable exposure to CIM’s wide range of asset types and investment platforms active in principal investing in each element of the capital stack. This position is a core member of CIM’s fast-growing infrastructure investment strategies and will be responsible for the full set of responsibilities necessary to deliver on successful investment outcomes, from investment execution to exit.

In this role, you’ll serve on the Investments deal team and be responsible for handling the majority of the financial modeling, market research, and underwriting of an investment. You’ll also support the transaction due diligence and closing processes and help to monitor existing investments.

 

Top performers in this position are dedicated, self-motivated individuals with at least two years of experience working in finance, an interest in learning, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

ABOUT YOU:

• Quantitative aptitude, with a preference for fluency in corporate and/or asset finance, excellent modeling skills, and strong attention to detail
• Infrastructure investment or project finance knowledge is a plus but not a requirement
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment and work effectively with deal team members often spread across multiple geographies, including but not limited to Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and Washington, D.C.
• Positive attitude and professional demeanor
