Position: We are currently seeking a leader in Capital Markets and Investor Relations to join our dynamic team. The position’s primary responsibility is to lead our equity and debt capital markets activities across our multifamily and industrial platforms. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of real estate investments, asset management, and investor relations in order to contribute to the overall vision and growth of the organization. This role is critical to our continued success raising equity, forming partnerships and maintaining strong investor relations. We are looking for a self-starter, someone who is passionate about the real estate industry and has a proven track record. You will work closely with senior leadership and work across the investment and asset management teams within the organization to drive results.
Responsibilities:
- Equity Capital Markets:
- Take ownership of the fundraising efforts for future real estate investment vehicles and partnerships, demonstrating an entrepreneurial spirit and drive to achieve capital raising targets.
- Help to identify and proactively engage with potential investors, cultivate relationships, and effectively communicate our investment strategies and value propositions.
- Assist in developing compelling marketing materials, investment presentations, and offering documents that resonate with investors and showcase our unique investment opportunities.
- Attend and manage investor meetings; lead roadshows and networking activities to generate investor interest, secure commitments, and build lasting partnerships.
- Collaborate closely with our legal, compliance, and finance teams to ensure regulatory compliance and efficiently structure our funds for success.
- Continuously monitor market trends, investor preferences, and competitive landscape to refine fundraising strategies and stay ahead of the curve.
- Investor Relations & Fund Strategy:
- Lead Investor Relations function by working closely with the asset management and reporting team to effectively communicate fund performance, portfolio activities, and market insights.
- Be a trusted and responsive primary point of contact for our existing investors.
- Cultivate and nurture strong relationships with investors, actively addressing inquiries, managing expectations, and identifying opportunities for additional capital commitments.
- Contribute to the formulation and execution of investment strategies.
- Collaborate closely with our senior leadership team to develop and implement strategic initiatives that enhance our performance and deliver exceptional investor experiences.
- Stay at the forefront of industry best practices, regulatory changes, and market dynamics, providing valuable insights and recommendations to drive our continued success.
- Debt Capital Markets
- Assist in sourcing project-level debt to support our real estate acquisitions and development projects.
- Build strong relationships with lenders, financial institutions, and debt capital providers.
- Review and analyze financing proposals and manage the financing process from start to finish, alongside the investment teams.
- Collaborate closely with our acquisitions, asset management, and development teams to align debt financing with our investment objectives and optimize capital structures.
- Stay informed about market conditions and emerging trends.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field
- 8 to 15+ years of relevant experience in real estate private equity, with the ability to tailor the position and level of seniority for the right candidate.
- Recent experience in an equity fundraising / capital markets role for real estate funds or partnerships.
- In-depth knowledge of capital markets, including fundraising strategies, investor preferences, and regulatory frameworks.
- Strong understanding of real estate investment strategies, financial analysis, and valuation methodologies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with investors and other capital providers.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to contribute to across the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
