Overview

Slate Property Group, a New York City-based owner, operator and developer of residential and mixed-use real estate, is seeking an Investment Analyst who will be involved in all aspects of the firm's diverse portfolio of investments across a variety of asset classes.  The candidate will be responsible for generating financial analysis; preparing LP and internal reporting; and will broadly support the firm’s asset management and acquisitions teams, reporting ultimately to Slate’s CIO.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial analysis and underwriting utilizing deal marketing materials, reporting prepared by accounting department, guidance of senior team members, and personal experience and insight
  • Report regularly to company senior management and limited partners
  • Prepare written investment updates on quarterly basis using company form
  • Prepare portfolio-level data for internal underwriting, benchmarking, etc.
  • Assist in asset management of existing investments
  • Assist in execution of acquisitions, dispositions and other capital markets transactions
  • Maintain operating and capital budgets, project schedules

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an analyst in investment banking, investment sales, private equity or real estate development.
  • Strong background in Excel required, Yardi and Argus experience preferred.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in development and/or renovation of multifamily real estate including high-level knowledge of NYC building code and zoning ordinance, requisition and loan draw processing and general project management.
  • Top-tier education (degree from a Top 30 ranked undergraduate institution) and strong GPA
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to successfully manage internal and external relationships
  • Must be able to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks effectively, take on additional responsibility, and have strong attention to detail
