About the role

The purpose of this position is to manage and support the implementation of energy and sustainability initiatives within our aerospace manufacturing client account. Provide one resource to lead implementation E&S projects at two facilities within the East Hartford, CT market.

What you'll do

Develop energy management & sustainability projects.

Support the application of global energy and sustainability standards throughout.

Implement programs to achieve savings goals and targets by specified timelines. Run energy benchmarking and energy assessments.

Analyze energy and water consumption metrics to find opportunities and build plans to sustain energy savings.

Lead identification and prioritization of energy capital projects, operational changes, and upgrades, resulting in reduced energy consumption. May include HVAC, lighting, building envelope, demand response and controls, plug loads, distributed generation, employee engagement, and evaluating new technologies and services.

Establish / monitor utilities budgets and provide forecasts of utility expenses.

Develop and evaluate financial viability of projects for budgeting and approval.

Report clear and concise metrics on various energy and sustainability activities (cost savings, CO2, water), and achievements on prescribed intervals as requested by PW.

Communicate plans and progress to all levels of staff through presentations and meetings.

Support water saving programs and recycling programs as requested.

Support new business pursuits and business development through relationship building and building walkthroughs. Perform energy analysis and efficiency calculations.

  • BS in engineering (chemical, electrical, mechanical, industrial, civil) or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years working commercial/industrial environment with Facilities Management/Planning responsibilities
  • Strong experience with energy conservation, energy management, performance contracting or energy engineering.
  • Consistent record of excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) and/or Certified Energy Manager (CEM), OSHA 30 certifications are highly desired.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint, SAP online software platforms, Tableau, Power BI. Ability to use spreadsheets and data analysis applications.
  • Multi-task and effectively coordinate responsibilities.
  • Possess strong project management and leadership skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of sustainability and energy principles and concepts, particularly related to the built environment.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, building automation and control systems across a variety of building types.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial construction methods and specifications.
