Job Description
A privately held real estate investment firm focused on value-add multifamily real estate across prime areas of NYC is seeking to hire an acquisitions associate, who wants to work with our team in a friendly, entrepreneurial environment and has the ability to take on a key role. The role will report to the firm’s co-founder and will be part of a lean but rapidly growing team. Organization, time management and timely communication will be key success factors in performance. This is mostly a commission based role for originations.
Essential job responsibilities
- Review and underwrite potential investment opportunities
- Model and forecast asset performance, projected returns, varying debt scenarios, and equity waterfalls
- Participate in the sourcing process by communicating with brokers, preparing LOI’s and buyer questionnaires
- Participate in the due diligence process by coordinating and participating in site visits and market assessments
- Work with asset and constructions management teams to conduct due diligence and develop business plans
- Perform detailed market research on supply/demand fundamentals, economic trends, comparable sales, vacancy, and rental rates
- Manage the closing process, working with title, escrow, legal, seller, and brokers to ensure timely and efficient closings
- Work with lenders and mortgage brokers to obtain and compare loan quotes and manage the closing process
- Maintain the firm’s potential investment pipeline, participate in weekly pipeline meetings, and create investment committee memoranda

Ideal candidate will have the following qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Real Estate, Business Administration, or related field of study.
- 1-3 years of real estate or finance experience
- Multifamily experience a plus, but not required
- Advanced/expert proficiency with Microsoft Excel
