Job Description

Position Overview:

Aksia is seeking an experienced investment research professional to join Aksia’s Real Estate Investment Research team. Our Real Estate Investment Research team is responsible for identifying potential fund and co-investment opportunities, performing due diligence, proposing recommendations for client investments, and monitoring client portfolio holdings.

This position can be based in Aksia’s Chicago, New York, or San Diego offices and will include regular interaction with global colleagues and clients. A remote arrangement can be considered for qualified candidates based elsewhere.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing network contacts to proactive source investment opportunities for clients, including funds, co-investments, separate accounts, joint ventures and direct investments.
  • Establishing and cultivating relationships with institutional real estate managers, placement agents, clients and other relevant industry participants
  • Identifying and assessing institutional real estate investment opportunities
  • Providing thorough qualitative and quantitative market research to assist in strategic investment focus for clients
  • Performing fund evaluation, due diligence, industry/company analysis and financial modelling
  • Monitoring market trends and closely tracking existing investments to support the investment / divestment decisions of clients
  • Supporting the preparation of internal reporting documentation and tracking investment performance
  • Constantly developing and renewing industry/sector knowledge as well as macro and regulatory changes
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with strong academic record
  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Passion for and understanding of the institutional real estate investment universe
  • Strong financial modeling and analysis skills
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities with limited oversight
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attentive to detail
  • Ability to think analytically and critically
  • Strong Excel skills
