Job Description

The Senior Associate of Acquisitions & Asset Management will be responsible for supporting acquisitions and asset management, as well as development across the firm’s investment portfolio. This position is based in New York City and will report to the firm principal and the Head of Asset Management. The main focus of this role include:

  • Analyze IRR projections, promote calculations, waterfall structures, and cash flow forecasts for both new and current investments.
  • Conduct due diligence, underwriting, financial modeling, project finance, and assist in creating deal documentation for new investments.
  • Responsible for assisting in the overall financial performance of the assets, including cash management and investor reporting.
  • Report on performance, budget variances, and significant changes in market and property conditions.
  • Conduct market research including demographics, location analysis, and competitor information to facilitate decision making.
  • Oversee the preparation of property business plans, operating and capital budgets; devise sell/hold strategies for each assigned asset.
  • Participate in the acquisitions process with respect to underwriting support and risk mitigation.
  • Prepare investment summaries through market research, risk/strength assessment and property valuation analysis for potential investments, and present to senior management.
  • Assist in the creation of Offering Memorandums for new acquisitions, recapitalizations, and dispositions.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in real estate asset management and acquisitions.
  • Experience with real estate development and construction is preferred.
  • Excellent due diligence, analytical, negotiating, transaction structuring, and financial skills.
  • Strong valuation, due diligence, and real estate financial analysis skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and results oriented attitude.
  • Ability to work as a team player.
  • Self-starter who can effectively prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Advanced applications experience in Excel and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Collaborative team player and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Well-organized; independent thinker who is solutions oriented; good administrative skills; attention to detail.
  • Excellent and proven written and oral presentation skills. Ability to communicate and present to senior management.
