About the Role
As a CBRE Energy Manager, you will assist with leading the team responsible for the development and execution of energy management programs.
What You'll Do
Develop global energy & sustainability management strategy that aligns with client's short term energy cost savings goals and long-term emissions-reduction goals to meet their sustainability commitments.
Lead identification and prioritization of energy capital projects, operational efficiency initiatives, and physical plant upgrades, resulting in reduced energy consumption (may include HVAC, lighting, building envelope, demand response and controls, renewable energy, employee engagement, and evaluating new technologies and services).
Lead Net Zero program strategy and implementation.
Report clear and concise metrics on various energy and sustainability activities and achievements.
Provide guidance across all real estate, including green leasing, sustainable sourcing, operational efficiency, sustainability construction standards etc.
Communicate plans and progress to staff through presentations and meetings.
Initiate water efficiency and waste management programs and develop plans.
Responsible for identifying and implementing cost saving strategies and budgeting for utilities.
Develops, monitors, and presents monthly status and variance reports.
Utility Cost Management & Procurement
- Coordinate energy procurement for sites across the global portfolio.
- Provide forecasts of utility expenses throughout the portfolio.
- Find opportunities for utility cost savings such as demand response programs, rate and tariff optimization, rebates etc.
Data analytics & compliance reporting
- Supervise existing and proposed compliance requirements.
- Lead the overall GHG inventory program, maintain GHG database, and provide compliance technical support.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of data submitted.
- Prepares and presents results of analysis and reports along with their relative impact(s) to the business to all levels of management.
- Understands the conceptual, logical and physical data models necessary to support the Sustainability and GHG analytic data requirements.
- Support client's emissions, waste, and water environmental targets reporting.
- Develop and present monthly energy reports on energy use, water use, waste diversion rates and spending trends.
- Understand and calculate building energy consumption profiles and energy savings from projects.
What You'll Need
Bachelor's Degree preferred with 3-5 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems.
Leadership skills to empower team impact on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the job field and department.
Progressive knowledge of Microsoft Office products, and online software platforms.
Self-starter with ability to strategically drive a global energy program with innovative ideas and solutions.
In-depth knowledge of global sustainability, energy principles and concepts.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Energy Manager position is $130,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Energy Manager position is $150,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
